Wind and Kite Surfing
Endless kilometres of white sandy beaches, unspoilt countryside and some of the best windsurfing conditions in Europe have established the area as a true surfers' paradise.

Horse riding
The Hurricane Hotel has its own stables, and it is a pleasures to hire one of the Andalusian horses and explore the miles of beautiful countryside in the Sierra. In winter you can explore the deserted beaches and the huge golden sanddunes of Punta Paloma and Bolonia.

Mountain biking
In Tarifa mountain-biking is a great alternative to windsurfing, as the surrounding mountains offer unique mountain-biking experiences.

The great variety of trails makes biking appealing at all levels.
Contrary to what you might expect, the climate is ideal all year round due to the winds that refresh the air.

We recommend that you consult a map and follow the suggested routes that, depending on the wind direction, will avoid you pedalling against wind.

Rock Climbing
The San Bartolo area offers over 250 different climbs of levels between III and 8a, mostly from 10 to 15 metres high, although some exeed 85 metres.

At Betis (nearby Tarifa)there is the meeting point where you have to park your car, you will find a list of the most recent bolted climbs. The climbing area is at 500 metres up the mountains.

The rock is mostly compact sandstone and limestone, and unpolished. The climate is favourable almost all year round. The rocks are facing different directions, which means some of them will always be protected from sun and wind

Scuba Diving
The waters of the Straits provide wide opportunity for divers.

Tarifa is an underwater paradise!

A wild and attractive sea bed, abrupt and often breathtaking, endows Tarifa and the nearby spots with a submerged garden of immense beauty, ideal for diving. The variety of spots, the different depths and the transparency of the water allow the practice of diving at any level.
